Lab scale reactors

Lab scale reactors are an innovative reaction concept made with the same materials used in the industrial chemical process fabricated in laboratory scale. Ideal for scale down and scale up processes, it guarantees a quick return on investment for customers’ research projects.

The modular design guarantees quick assembly and elevated flexibility, as well as an adjustable configuration.

The main applications covered are:

  • Lab reactor for distillation
  • Enzyme digester with automatic pH adjustment
  • Reactor/mixer for formulations and emulsion studies

Rangeability

  • From 300 ml up to 7 L
  • Design temperature: – 50°C to + 200°C; larger range available on request
  • Design Pressure: – 1 barg to + 0,5 barg
  • Max vacuum: 10 mbar(a)
  • Compatible with various types of heating media (steam, hot oil and hot water)

Agitator system and mechanical seal

  • PTFE coated AISI 304 stirring shaft and PTFE anchor blade
  • Wide range of agitation shapes available on request
  • Lab type mechanical seal made of PTFE/PEEK/glass

Drive unit

  • Ultra-high torque stirrer, designed for use with remote control
  • Spindle motor or air motor with inverter option available on request
  • Compact size

Support frame

  • Structure made of AISI 304 stainless steel
  • Each version can be placed on desk or under a hood
  • Small footprint: ~450 x 350 x H1065 mm

Material

  • Material in contact with product: glass, PTFE, FEP and PEEK
  • Vessel: entirely in 3,3 borosilicate glass
  • Lid: 3,3 borosilicate glass or PTFE
The PTFE/glass coupling guarantees maximum sealing, resistance to corrosion and elevated resistance to any type of glass breakage during assembly/disassembly
  • Gasket, between reactor and cap: FEP coated silicone
  • Bottom valve obturator: PTFE
  • Stirring shaft: PTFE
  • Support frame and external parts: AISI 304 stainless steel

Options

  • Reactor equipped with or without thermostatic jacket
  • Clamp connection between reactor vessel and lid
  • Cone connections on lid
  • Assorted number of connections for the lid, depending on reactor size
  • Pneumatic GMP bottom valve, completely autoclavable, technically developed for thermal expansion compensation
  • Bottom valve with PT100 sensor
  • Magnetic drive seal
