Research & Development

Innovation and development
have always been at the heart
of our mindset, whether for
industrial production processes
or environmental processes
and today more than ever they are
the keystones of our business.

We believe in an open approach aimed at creating innovation through collaboration with our customers and partners.

We develop and deploy environmental processes for:

  • Wastewater treatment and reuse
  • Sludge treatment
  • Waste recovery

In addition to the following production processes:

  • Purification
  • Concentration
  • Filtration
  • Drying

Development can extend from an idea to its launch, or can regard only a few specific stages to prepare the feasibility studies to support plant and equipment design.

More about feasibility studies

In addition to development of our own processes, we provide testing and analytical services to solve specific customer issues.

Multidisciplinary teams composed of scientists, technicians and engineers rely on:

  • Process simulation software
  • Bench scale testing
  • Pilot plants testing
  • Physical-chemical analysis

The above are conducted at our R&D centre located in Italy and in collaboration with external laboratories, universities and industry associations.

Process development and testing

New processes are developed by combining process simulation and experiments, conducted at the laboratory level or on a pilot scale.
Bench scale tests are performed for preliminary technical feasibility studies and are generally followed by tests on pilot plants to optimise process parameters, check reliability and scale-up.
We are optimally equipped for testing in the fields of:

  • Wet oxidation
  • Chemical oxidation
  • Biological treatment
  • Respirometry
  • Chemical-physical treatment
  • Purification & concentration (evaporation/stripping)
  • Filtration
  • Drying

Testing and analytical services

Customers across multiple industries can rely on a broad range of testing and analytical services for:

  • Process solution identification (process development/design)
  • Process feasibility investigation
  • Process scale up
  • Process verification
  • Equipment selection and sizing

Both bench scale and pilot plants tests are available. Tests are run on samples provided by customers or synthetic samples, depending on the customer’s request.

Multiple process parameters and product properties are recorded, analysed and made available to customers through detailed test reports prepared by highly qualified testing personnel.

Test equipment is also available for rent when customers want to perform the tests on their own.
